Tech Founder: Established Safari Mobile UK Ltd in 2001 to offer consumer entertainment services on mobile phones. Enjoyed rapid growth (to £14m per year revenue). Listed in the Sunday Times' Tech Track 100 in 2007, 2008, and 2009 as one of the UK's fastest-growing private tech companies. Sold the company in 2017.
Inventor: Obtained a patent (GB2369468 and US7321928) in 2001 for an “Improved computer network architecture and associated method and system”. Since publication, this patent has been cited by Alcatel-Lucent, Amazon, eBay, Google, Microsoft, Paypal, Samsung, Sony, Tencent, and Vodafone.
Charity Leader: Joined the board of a local substance misuse charity in 1997. As Chair, grew the charity from 5 employees into a £110m national charity aimed at reducing deprivation and exclusion, and improving people's well-being.
